STEP 1: APPLY FOR SUMMER WORKSHOPS

Before filling out your online application form, please have the following documents ready to upload. Your application is not complete without these documents. You will be prompted to upload these documents before you "Submit" your application. Letters must be in Microsoft Word, PDF, RTF, or Text file format.

If you are using Microsoft Word 2007, please convert and save the document to an earlier version prior to uploading the letters in the application.

Letter of Interest:

Please briefly describe (two pages maximum) your background with the workshop topic and your goals for attending the workshop.

Letter of Support:

This letter should come from your Principal (one page maximum on school letterhead) and should indicate that your Principal supports your participation in this workshop.

NOTE: If your district does not provide tuition reimbursement, please make note of this in the comment section of the application.

Tuition subsidies are available for ALL of the workshops on a competitive basis. The tuition subsidies are need-based and assessed on a first-come, first-served basis. Notification of tuition subsidies will be sent on April 2, 2008; however applications may be submitted until May 31, 2008.

Registering for Graduate School After Being Accepted Into the Course:

Please note the new directions for completing your Graduate School Application. The Graduate School changed their information after the letters were sent to applicants.

GRADUATE SCHOOL APPLICATION:

Before you can register for the course, you must enroll as a *nondegree* student to the Penn State Graduate School. If you have ever been enrolled in the Penn State Graduate School in the past (i.e. taken one of our courses, etc.), then you just need to *resume study*. Directions for each process are outlined below.

*RESUME STUDY DIRECTIONS* (FOR RETURNING STUDENTS)

Go to http://www.gradsch.psu.edu/facstaff/forms/ges.html and click on "Resume study/change of graduate degree or major" under Documents and Forms Available to the Public. This will open a .pdf document. Fill it out and fax or mail to the Office of Enrollment Services (contact info at top of form).

*ENROLL AS A NONDEGREE* (FOR NEW STUDENTS)

STEP 1: Go to http://www.gradsch.psu.edu/prospective/apply.html Scroll down to the *Nondegree Admission* section and click on the link to the online form located in the third paragraph.

STEP 2: To process the Graduate School Online Application, you must first complete the log in. Follow directions located on this page.

STEP 3: You are now in the official application for both degree and nondegree applicants. You should follow the directions inserted below for NONDEGREE APPLICANTS. These directions are also found embedded in the website.

**NONDEGREE APPLICANTS**

Only six sections need to be completed for non-degree graduate applicants; however, the five remaining sections still need to be saved by clicking the "Save Section" button at the bottom of each section (even if no data is entered).

The required sections for non-degree graduate applicants are:

* Campus/Major/Degree Information (CHOOSE NON-DEGREE GRADUATE FOR MAJOR AND NONE FOR DEGREE

* Address Information

* Education Information

* Citizenship

* Coursework in Progress (the post-baccalaureate questions only)
